Product Description
Methyl Ethyl Ketone is an organic compound produced and supplied in liquid form. The liquid appears to be colorless and has sweet odor. A very little amount of this organic compound can be found in nature; the majority of it is produced in industries. Also called as Butanone, this organic compound with a CH3C(O)CH2CH3 formula, is majorly used as an industrial solvent in production of paraffin wax, textiles, plastics, paint remover, varnishes, etc. This water soluble organic compound has low viscosity. It can react with a small spark and is therefore a moderate explosive. Fires caused by Methyl Ethyl Ketone can be extinguished with CO2 or dry agents. It is mainly stored in drums and is classified as hazard class 3 for transportation purpose.
